Short Stories
Most of these true stories are snapshots of life in or near small-town Auburn, Illinois during the '60s and '70s. Some were written by my mother, Florence Corlas.
The incidents in these stories are unremarkable at first glance, occurring in local places you won't find on a state map—a farm pasture, a girl scout camp, a small-town back yard, etc. They are simple vignettes about commonplace people and everyday events that made a big impression. The lessons they taught my mother and me helped shape our souls.
